| The
Sheboygan Rotary Club dates back to 1915 and the Sheboygan Rotary Club Foundation,
Inc. was organized in the late 1950s.
Rotarys main objective is SERVICE in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world. Rotarians are dedicated to building goodwill and peace, providing humanitarian services and encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations. Hence the Rotary motto, Service Above Self.
Rotarians initiate community projects, work with and for youth, have a history of working for peace, and, through the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, sponsor international education and humanitarian programs. In 1985, Rotary created Polio Plus a program to immunize all of the worlds children against polio by the year 2005. This Rotary goal is today being met via financial support, volunteerism, and eradication advocacy.
The Sheboygan Rotary Foundation is dedicated to the betterment of the communities where its members work and live. Over the years, the Sheboygan Rotary Foundation has been a leader in providing scholarships and funding civic projects in the area. Rotary has provided more than $500,000 to projects such as Rotary Riverview Park, the
Rotary Promenade, Above & Beyond Childrens Museum, the Rehabilitation Center of Sheboygan, YMCA, and Camp Rokilio. Rotary has purchased a sand rake for the Sheboygan beaches and contributed to the success of many other worthwhile projects. Rotarians also provide service in non-monetary ways, such as participating in the Adopt-A-Street Program, building an overlook at Maywood Environmental Park and ringing bells for the Salvation Armys red kettle campaign during the holidays. In addition, we provide programs for youth such as Camp Enterprise, the World Affairs Seminar and the Student Rotarian program.
All
Rotary projects are funded through fundraisers such as
the
Rotary Concert Series performances, and through contributions
from Rotarians and the communities they serve.
Thank you for helping us put Service Above Self.
